Daniel O'Connell Church, Cahersiveen
Cahersiveen Parish,
Catholic Diocese of Kerry, Ireland

We hope that your visit to this website will provide you with the information and direction you need in finding out more about our parish.

Our Parish of 1,000 families in Cahersiveen is located on the beautiful Ring of Kerry in south west Ireland and incorporates:

O'Connell Memorial Church Cahersiveen,
St Joseph's Church, Aghatubrid and
The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Foilmore.

(See Photos below)

The €6 million Restoration of the Daniel O'Connell Memorial Church in Cahersiveen is underway since January 2008 and is progressing extremely well. You might be interested in finding out about it in this site, and possibly supporting it through your prayers and your finances.

The Parish also includes five primary schools:

  • Aghatubrid NS

  • Coars NS

  • Foilmore NS

  • Scoil Mhuire Boys NS

  • St Joseph's Girls NS

...as well as Colaiste na Sceilge second level school and St Anne's Hospital.

While the parish has a rich faith history as can be seen in numerous ecclesiastical ruins, some dating back to possibly the 6th century, we see ourselves as a vibrant faith community who seek to model our lives and our parish on our Saviour Jesus Christ, particularly as we gather for Eucharist and build community. The vibrancy of our community of faith is a testimony to the direct involvement of so many parishioners, and for this we give thanks. If you are a parishioner and wish to serve our parish community in one of the various ministry groups, we would love to hear from you.

Let us pray for one another and enjoy your web-visit,

Canon William Crean
Fr Niall Howard
