Cahersiveen Parish Pastoral Council
Since the advent of the Second Vatican Council the Church has repeatedly recommended the development of pastoral councils as a means of encouraging the shared responsibility of all the baptised in the life and mission of the church.
The Cahersiveen?Parish Pastoral Council is a representative body of the faithful, willing to work in close partnership with the priests of the parish to further the mission of Christ and his Church in the parish. This group of 2 priests and 11 parishioners (nominated by other parishioners) meet monthly to determine the needs of our parish at this time, and to address those needs where possible. The Parish Pastoral Council seeks to promote the involvement of all parishioners, and so would be delighted to hear ideas and concerns of parishioners. Please contact the Pastoral Council through the Parish Office.

Cahersiveen Parish Liturgy Group
This group of 8, comprising of priests and parishioners gather monthly to plan some of the liturgical happenings in our parish. While the perfect liturgy happens in Heaven we hope that we can bring glimpses of that to our parish celebrations. The Parish Liturgy Group focuses on the regular weekly parish celebrations, as well as the yearly events of Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter. Please contact the Parish Liturgy Group (through the Parish Office) if you have ideas and concerns that you would like to bring to their attention. Like the Parish Pastoral Council, the more ideas the better for our parish as a whole.

Cahersiveen Parish Restoration & Fundraising Committee
This group of priests and parishioners are the group that are spearheading the Restoration Project for the Daniel O?Connell Memorial Church. They have been instrumental in moving the project forward from the planning stage to the active work that is in progress. They are also focussing on the fundraising needed for this work, and please contact them (through the Parish Office) if you would be prepared to organise a fundraising activity, or indeed to give to the project directly.

Ministry Groups within our Parish
Many parishioners are directly involved in the liturgical and practical life of the parish. We are grateful to them, but are always inviting others to be involved. You might consider one of the following:
?
Eucharistic Ministers - involved in distributing Holy Communion at Sunday and weekday Masses and in St Anne?s Hospital
?
Readers - to proclaim God?s Word in the readings at Masses
?
Collectors - involved at weekend Masses in the offertory collections
?
Choir and organists- to lead the community at Mass in praying through music and song
?
Altar Society - to clean and prepare the Churches so that they are fitting places of worship
?
Flower arranging - preparing flowers for the churches so as to draw some of God?s beautiful creation into our celebrations
?
Contact people - distribute parish literature and the yearly boxes of envelopes to the homes of our parish
?
Thanks to all who are involved in the life of our parish in so many ways (some public and many others behind the scenes). The involvements of so many are needed to continue the vibrant activity of our parish. Please consider offering your time and talents, and chat with Canon Billy or Fr Niall if you would like to find out more on any of the above.
